Gunnar is 3 Months Old Today!!! We started the morning with William wanting to hold Gunnar right away...so much fun to have these 2 cousins together! William is so good at holding Gunnar and loves to give him kisses.

Gunnar had a 3 month photo shoot today with Renee Gooch, Andersonville baby photographer of "Gooch Too." Renee has a way with babies, I could tell that right away. Her high pitch voice and bubbly personality had Gunnar excited from the get go. The Studio was adorable. Perfectly bright white rooms with chalkboard paint and kid size chairs and balls filled the studio. Gunnar was in rare form for Renee and was ready to show off his best moves, giggles and smiles. We knew this was going to be a fun shoot when Renee first decided to "tickle" G with her high pitch voice...G squeeled with laughter and couldn't get enough of her. But what we weren't expecting was to witness a monumental milestone occur right before our eyes. While Gunnar was having so much fun flirting with Renee he curled over to his left side, he did this several times until suddenly he found himself on his stomach! But he didn't stop there, a few minutes after being on his tummy he rolled to his back again and then back to his tummy...he rolled several times until he practically rolled right off the rug! Our jaws were all on the floor... Renee, my mom (who came along) and Kim (Renee's assistant) and I were just amazed! It was like he was saving that little trick in his back pocket just for this moment, his 3 month birthday and when we had a professional photographer around to document it! What fun!!
I can't wait to see the pictures from today's shoot! We had so much fun and I'm sure it will show in the pictures!
I haven't even seen the photos yet, but I highly recommend this studio for all you Chicago mom's! Renee offers a Baby's first year package for $150 which includes 3 mini-sessions in the first year! What a steal and what a way to document your babies major milestones! Our next session will come whenever Gunnar decides to sit on his own! Check out her website here: Gooch Too
(And if you decide to book a session with Renee, tell her I referred you and you'll get $25 off your print order!)
After Gunnar's photo-shoot and his long 2.5 hour nap, William, Nana, Grandpa and I walked across the street to visit our local library. I finally got a library card and checked out some board books for Gunnar. But the best part about my shiny new library card is the Museum Passport that the library card offers....did you know that you can check out passes to almost all of the Chicago museums for free? What?!! Yes!!! You can only check out one pass at a time (good for one week) and the pass is good for free passes into the museums for a family of 4. All you have to do is check out the pass before you go. And make sure you return it a week later because the late fees are high ($2/day). The participating museums in Chicago are: The Adler Planetarium, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Brookfield Zoo, The Chicago Botanical Garden, The Chicago Children's Museum, Chicago History Museum, DuSable Museum of African American History, The Field Museum, The Lincoln Park Zoo, The Museum of Contemporary Art, The Museum of Science and Industry, The National Museum of Mexican Art, The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, The Shedd Aquarium, and The Museums Works for Chicago.
My sister informed me that they have a similar program in Connecticut, so check your local libraries to see if they offer something similar! Too cool!!!!
